What Is ETCHED Stone Paper Made From?

Stone paper is an innovative material that will change the way you think about paper. While regular paper is made from tree pulp and fibers, stone paper is made from calcium carbonate and a recyclable resin. It's waterproof, tear-resistant, and doesn't yellow over time like regular paper.

What Advantages Does Stone Paper Offer For The Environment When Compared To Traditional Tree Pulp Paper?

Stone paper is a more sustainable option for paper products when compared to traditional tree pulp paper. Unlike traditional paper, stone paper production does not require cutting down trees, which makes it a more environmentally friendly option. In addition, stone paper production requires no water or chemicals, which are heavily required in the traditional paper production process, and can have a significant environmental impact. Stone paper production is also non-toxic, unlike traditional paper production, which can use harmful chemicals.

The process to create stone paper uses 80% less energy than traditional paper, which leads to a 60% reduction in its carbon footprint. Stone paper also has a longer shelf life compared to traditional paper, reducing the need for frequent replacements and helping to further reduce waste.

Can I Use A Regular Pen Or Pencil On Stone Paper Or Do I Need A Special One?

No need to go on a quest for a special pen or pencil, my friend! You can use any regular ballpoint pen, rollerball pen, or any pencil on stone paper just like you would on any other type of paper.

In all seriousness, stone paper is known for its smooth surface and excellent drawing experience, so you might find that your art comes out even better on our stone paper than on traditional paper.

Just don't try to carve your name into it with a rock, okay? That might not end well.

Is It Possible To Use A Pencil On Stone Paper And Can Mistakes Be Erased?

Of course! You can definitely use a pencil on stone paper. In fact, it works just like it would on any other type of paper.

Just imagine a smooth and velvety surface, ready to be filled with your ideas, sketches, and notes. As you move your pencil across the page, you'll feel the satisfying glide of the graphite on the stone paper.

And if you make a mistake? No problem! Stone paper is erasable with regular erasers, just like regular paper, or with water and a cloth because it is waterproof and durable. So, if you make a mistake, there's no need to worry because you can easily make corrections and start fresh in whichever way you prefer.

Can I paint on it?

Yes! We have tested gouache, oil paint, and acrylic paint, and they all work very well. The colours are even more vibrant, and it feels extremely smooth to paint on. In regards to watercolour, it also works but it takes some patience and experimentation - some artists have compared watercolour on stone paper to oil paint on regular paper because you can paint in layers.

Are all pens waterproof?

It depends which pen you use - alcohol-based pens are waterproof, so if you spill, your writing will be fine! Water-based pens can be washed off with water and would not be waterproof if you spilled on them.

Each time the paper is recycled, the fibers that make up the paper get shorter and weaker. Eventually, they became too short and too weak, so new wood pulp needs to be used.
